82% Of TX Hispanic Republicans Approve of Trump, Rank Immigration as Top Issue
First statewide poll of Texas Hispanic Republican primary voters shows Marco Rubio leading 2028 field, Ken Paxton commanding Senate runoff.
AUSTIN, TX — A new statewide poll of Texas Hispanic Republican primary runoff voters, commissioned by Tejano Republicans PAC and conducted by National Victory Strategies, finds that 82 percent of Hispanic Republicans in Texas approve of President Donald Trump's job performance and rank illegal immigration as the most important issue facing the state.
The findings are the most comprehensive measurement to date of a voter bloc that national media and Democratic strategists have long treated as a Democratic constituency.
KEY FINDINGS
82% of Texas Hispanic Republicans approve of President Trump's job performance, with 68% strongly approving.
47% identify as MAGA Republicans, and 43% as Traditional Republicans.
86% describe themselves as conservative, with 61 percent identifying as very conservative.
Illegal immigration is the top issue at 30%, followed by Islamification at 16% and the economy at 15%.
Marco Rubio leads the 2028 Republican presidential primary field at 40%, ahead of JD Vance at 29%.
In the May 26 U.S. Senate runoff, Ken Paxton leads John Cornyn 50% to 27%, with 23% undecided.
The May 26 Attorney General runoff is a dead heat; Mayes Middleton leads Chip Roy 36% to 34%, with 30% undecided.
The Attorney General runoff remains the most competitive race measured, and Hispanic Republicans will decide the outcome on May 26.

METHODOLOGY
The poll surveyed 1,012 likely Hispanic Republican primary runoff voters in Texas between April 21 and April 27, 2026. Interviews were conducted by telephone and text-to-web in both English and Spanish. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence interval.
